Bostik Porcelain Rapidset Grey (20kg)

Bostik Porcelain Rapidset Grey is a fast setting, thin and thick bed tile adhesive. It is specially formulated for fast track installation and enables tiles to be grouted only 2 hours after fixing – ideal for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts. This versatile adhesive is suitable for bonding porcelain, fully vitrified, ceramic, quarry, terracotta, and mosaic tiles to most interior and exterior wall and floor substrates.

Instructions for use

• Ensure the surface is clean, firm, free of dust, dirt, oil, grease and other barrier materials, as well as being strong enough to support the weight of the tiles and 100% dry (check the drying times of different substrates)
• Mix the product with clean cold water; 3 parts powder to 1 part water - until smooth, lump-free consistency achieved
• Using a notched trowel, apply the adhesive to the surface
  (The size of notched trowel chosen, depends on the tile size, the surface being tiled, the profile on the back of the tile and the degree of coverage required - check out our wide range of trowels)
• Comb to required bed thickness ensuring ribs all run in one direction
• Fix the tiles before the adhesive forms a skin (typically 20 minutes at 20°C)
  (Note. if skin forms, remove adhesive and apply fresh layer)
• Press tile firmly into the ribs of the adhesive and into position, with slight twisting/sliding action to ensure optimum adhesive contact (can be adjusted for 10 minutes after initial positioning)
• Ensure you have left adequate joint spaces between tiles for grouting
• Clean off surplus adhesive from tile face and between tile joints

Recommendations

Bostik Porcelain Rapidset is not suitable for use over timber floor substrates, in this case use Bostik Vitri-Flex Rapid or Ardex X 7001.
